“Antilia” was built for Mukesh Ambani – the richest man in India. The piece of land on which the house stands cost Ambani only 4 million dollars while the building itself was estimated at 2 billion dollars. This gorgeous 27-story building towers above Mumbai’s skylines and reminds everyone about the richest family in India. The building has many luxurious rooms, numerous facilities, and conveniences that one could only dream of having.

Here are a few Interesting facts about Antilia – the most expensive house in the world.

The house was designed by Chicago-based architects. Some floors of this 27-story palatial tower are of double and triple height, which makes Antilia extremely high (570 feet). Other buildings of the same height usually have from 40 to 60 floors.

Nita Ambani (Mukesh Ambani’s wife) says their house was built in accordance with “the lotus and the sun” theory. To create necessary motifs and atmosphere, artisans used extremely expensive materials among which are rare woods, marble, and mother of pearls.

Since the Ambanis have a large car fleet (168 autos), six floors of their house make a huge parking lot. This is quite convenient, as all cars are kept together and are always within easy reach. Of course, this rich family has their own car service which is located on the seventh floor of their house.

Moving from floor to floor is quick and easy, as Antilia has nine fast elevators. There are separate elevators for family members, staff members, and guests.

The house has several terrace gardens, a cinema that can seat fifty people, and a ‘snow world’ (which the Ambani family calls ‘ice room’) that allows enjoying winter without leaving Mumbai. On top of that, Antilia has 3 helipads and a helicopter control center, known as the “air space floor”.

Antilia is not only luxurious, convenient, and expensive. It was constructed to survive an 8-Richter scale earthquake. Over six hundred people help maintain this impressive mansion and serve its dwellers – Mukesh Ambani, his wife Nita Ambani, and their three children.
